Over Half Way

I returned from China on Sunday, just in time for the fourth session of chemo this week. While I was gone Max had another CT scan and the results look pretty good so far.  Much of the tumor site is filling in with bone mass and it’s getting smaller and smaller. It was a relief.  Some days in the back of my mind I have a terrible fear that the chemo won’t work or that cancer has spread.  I’m sure to some degree that fear is normal. But we are staying strong in our faith and leaning in to the Lord.

We saw Dr. Lee yesterday and he said that he thinks it’ all going really well and he feels that the six rounds of chemo should do the job.

The biggest change has been diet and environmental surroundings.  There is a lot of really good, newer, research and studies on cancer and how you can control it with diet.  The first book I read is called, “Anti Cancer Living” by Lorenzo Cohen, PhD and Alison Jefferies, MEd.  It talks about focusing on six key areas of health to significantly reduce your risk of cancer and increase your survival rates.  Harvard and many other elite research institutes are studying the effect of diet on cancer. It’s been something Max truly believes in and had been studying in the past few months. There are a lot more changes we can/will make but it’s been a great learning process for us so far.

A fun visitor yesterday! Mr. Fitz-Gerlad always puts a smile on Max’s face.

How are we doing?  Well, Max is Max.  I don’t know how else to describe him.  So if you know him, you know he’s alright.  Other than being insanely jet lagged from my trip I’m doing well. Max’s positive energy is infectious so it’s hard to feel anything other than that.
